Our Story
Backed by three generations of sewing craftswomen, GP Drapery is a family-owned business with over 25 years of experience in luxury custom drapery. Co-founded by Stacey Finch and her two sisters, GP Drapery, originally known as Gypsy’s Palace, began as a passion project in Los Angeles and has now expanded to serve clients nationwide.
Stacey originally learned to sew handbags from her mother, which grew into sewing draperies for friends. It was these draperies that caught the eye of the rock stars and other artistic individuals Stacey and her sisters surrounded themselves with. These unique connections fueled their creativity, and the company was born around a dining room table in 2003. It was during this time that Stacey began embracing a philosophy that went beyond mere fabric and design. She tapped into the emotions and stories of each client, ensuring each piece was a personal expression of their style and character.
Today, GP Drapery still operates from that same workroom in Los Angeles while being headquartered in Dallas, TX. All manufacturing takes place in Los Angeles, where they maintain dedicated spaces for both residential and commercial projects. Their Dallas headquarters features a showroom that showcases their fabrics as well as hardware. GP Drapery remains grounded in the same philosophy of connection, and Stacey and Paul continue to draw inspiration for their work from the relationships they forge. With an impressive nationwide reach and a reputation for excellence in design, craftsmanship, and service, Stacey maintains her signature blend of elegance and flair in every creation. The legacy of Gypsy’s Palaces remains a guiding force for Stacy and her team. Additionally, GP Drapery is excited to announce that a Dallas Design Center showroom is currently in development, further enhancing their ability to provide exceptional service and quality to their clients.

Excellent work! I recently moved into a new home and GP Drapery designed and installed a two-story, arched window motorized shade in the Master Bedroom. This huge window allows for a beautiful view of the mountains and wonderful sunrises while lying in bed, which can also be troublesome when you want to sleep in. The linen, embroidered fabric is exquisite and the remote control is a real luxury. This roman shade is a dream! I am looking forward to GP Drapery completing many more window covering projects throughout this house.

GP Drapery provided the fabric, lining and hardware. The quality and craftsmanship exceeded my wife's expectations (which is hard to do). Stacey listened carefully to what I wanted, and then sent samples, one of which exactly matched our house. I ordered floor-to-ceiling drapes and then waited ~ a month for them to be made. Finally, the day came, and a remarkably skilled craftsperson came to our house to install the new drapes. He worked with such care and deliberation, it was as if he were installing curtains in his own home. And the result… just spectacular – we love them, we finally have the high-quality, beautiful drapes our living room needed. And Stacey did all of this without actually seeing our house. She’s able to work design magic.

We recently hired GP Drapery for the second time. Everyone at the company (Stacey, Amanda and Salvador) went above and beyond for us. They recommended the perfect products and fabrics, made sure estimates were clear, handled billing quickly and efficiently, kept me updated on status, and did a wonderful job of installing. Our project was a bit complex, involving two rooms and three different types of window treatments (roller shades, motorized solar shades and reworking of our existing draperies/installing new rods), but they absolutely made my vision a reality. Both rooms are perfect! Well worth the cost and I would hire them again without reservation.
I have had a wonderful experience working with Stacey at GP Drapery. She is very professional, kind, responsive in her communication and always gets the work done in the time quoted. Drapery projects can be a nightmare if they do not have your full attention and are on top of their communication - that is not the issues you will get with GP Drapery.
